The Sunnyvale School District Board of Education selected its new officers at its annual Organizational Meeting on Dec. 11, 2025.
During the meeting, the Board completed its yearly organizational responsibilities, which included voting for officers and appointing members to represent the District on various committees.
The Board positions for 2026 are as follows:
- Board President: Peggy Shen Brewster
- Board Vice President: Isabel Jubes-Flamerich
- Board Clerk: Evelyn Castillo Profeta
- Board Members: Michelle Maginot, Bridget Watson
President Peggy Shen Brewster is a former educator and Sunnyvale School District parent dedicated to public education. As the founding president of the Bishop Elementary PTA, she helped pass Measures C and Y to secure millions in local funding. Peggy previously reformed the Sunnyvale Education Foundation’s grant system to an equity-based model and founded Sunnyvale for Equity in Education (SEE) to advocate for student transportation and representative governance.
Vice President Isabel Jubes-Flamerich is an architect, educator, and designer dedicated to public education and equity. With an MA from UC Berkeley, she integrates climate awareness into her advocacy for minority empowerment. A proven leader, Isabel successfully co-chaired a green school bond and passed a parcel tax with 82% approval. She currently serves on several state and local boards, focusing on environmental advocacy and legislative solutions for students.

- Representative to the Santa Clara County School Boards Association and alternate (SCCSBA): Evelyn Castillo Profeta and Bridget Watson
- Representative to the Santa Clara County Committee on School District Organization: Michelle Maginot
- Liaison to the District’s Wellness Committee (and alternate): Bridget Watson and Peggy Shen Brewster
- Liaisons to the District’s Facilities and Finance Committee (New): Bridget Watson and Isabel Jubes-Flamerich
- Liaisons to the District’s Bond Committee (CBOC): Evelyn Castillo Profeta and Michelle Maginot
- Liaisons to the 2x2x2x2 (President +1): Peggy Shen Brewster and Michelle Maginot
- District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC): Peggy Shen Brewster and Isabel Jubes-Flamerich
- Liaison to the Sunnyvale Challenge Team: Isabel Jubes-Flamerich and Peggy Shen Brewster
- Liaisons to Neighborhood Associations: Evelyn Castillo Profeta and Bridget Watson
Board member terms remain staggered, with Bridget Watson, Michelle Maginot and Evelyn Castillo Profeta serving through 2026, and Isabel Jubes-Flamerich and Peggy Shen Brewster serving through 2028.
