As we move further into the month of March, I am honored to recognize National Social Work Month. This is a special time for us to pause and celebrate the incredible professionals who serve as a vital bridge between our schools, our homes, and our community.

In our district, we know that academic achievement is only one part of a student’s journey. For a child to truly thrive, they must first feel safe, seen, and supported. Our school social workers are the champions of this mission, working tirelessly to ensure every student knows they belong and that they have a caring, trusting adult to turn to when life becomes challenging. They foster a sense of belonging through social skills development, provide a steady hand during times of crisis, and remove barriers to learning by connecting families with essential community resources. By advocating for mental health and building emotional resilience, they ensure that our students' minds are free to learn, create, and grow.

We are a stronger, kinder district because of the heart and expertise our social workers bring to our halls every single day. I encourage you to join me this month in showing our appreciation for their dedication. If you see a school social worker in your child’s building, please take a moment to say thank you. A medida que avanzamos más en el mes de marzo, me siento honrado de reconocer el Mes Nacional del Trabajo Social. Este es un momento especial para hacer una pausa y celebrar a los increíbles profesionales que sirven como un puente vital entre nuestras escuelas, nuestros hogares y nuestra comunidad.

En nuestro distrito, sabemos que el logro académico es solo una parte del camino de un estudiante. Para que un niño realmente prospere, primero debe sentirse seguro, visto y apoyado. Nuestros trabajadores sociales escolares son los campeones de esta misión, trabajando incansablemente para garantizar que cada estudiante sepa que pertenece y que tiene a un adulto atento y de confianza al que acudir cuando la vida se vuelve desafiante.
